My association with the Jesuits dates way back to the mid 1950s. I was yet a little girl then, but I remember my father rather proudly harping on the fact that what made him the person he became was the education he had received, under the Jesuits. The word ‘Jesuit’, frequently heard in the house, always related to education and people one would look up to. Thus I made a mental connect between Jesuit education and people excelling in all walks of life, the upper echelons of society. This impression has been borne out through the years.
