“Khushhall Bachpan” for children by Caritas India

CARITAS AUSTRALIA launched a Project called “Khushhall Bachpan”, promoting Happy Childhood in collaboration with Caritas India, Delhi, at XISA – Xavier Institute of Social Action, Raipur, Chhattisgarh on 1st March, 2023.

In his keynote address, Archbishop Henry Victor Thakur insisted that if we want to see our children happy, we have to keep our families happy. Robert Fitzgerald – Chair of Caritas Australia, said he was overwhelmed by the rich culture, children, poverty, migrants and women of India. Mr. Francis Landels – Advancement Director of Caritas Australia, was amazed to see the generosity, significant children, dignity, protection and leadership of India. Mr. Sergius Minj (Rtd. IAS), speaking on the Rights of Children, informed that Children have the basic Constitutional Right of health and hygiene, education, security and games, to enjoy and be happy. The Government of India has many projects for the development of children like midday meals, ICDS, livelihood etc., but unfortunately children are denied basic facilities, he lamented. He wished that Caritas Australia and Caritas India fulfill the Rights of children. Children from Gram Nirman enacted the role play on children’s rights to live, participate, develop, and find security in Jeevan Nirman.
