- THE STORY OF FORMAL LEADERS
In both secular and religious organisations leadership is expected from one or other member who has assumed formal office. The person assuming office is greeted with accolades about her qualities from bygone life episodes. Members depend on utterances of the leader to find meaning and significance for their own lives and action. After some time they begin to realize that the person whom they expected much of may not measure up to their expectations or thinks and acts at variance with their interests. Finally they will look forward to someone else assuming office who they hope will match their expectations.
