Handbook on Community Mobilisation in 10 languages!

Indian Social Institute, Bangalore, in collaboration with Caritas India, sponsored by Caritas Germany, has come out with a handbook on Community Mobilisation, titled “Development Anchored in Community Intelligence”. The handbook – published in English and 9 Indian languages: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada – was released in a two-day National Conference organized at Indian Social Institute, Bangalore, from 10th–11th November 2021. Scholars from 32 academic institutions, 25 development practitioners and 12 social work students participated in the conference. Professors from social work colleges and members of the consortium of social work and college networks in India have committed themselves to introduce the handbook as part of their social work curriculum to train social workers. Applauding the work, it was said, “The handbook is the first of its kind for social work students and practitioners, written in the Indian context and authored by an Indian in the last 25 years.” One can access the handbooks: https://isibangalore.com/handbooks
