When I’m full of me and none of thee,
When I’m mindless to miss thy graceful glee,
When I’m crippled to reach out to my near,
When I’m blind to the plight of thy dear,
When I’m deaf to the cry of the needy,
When I’m numb to the sly of the greedy,
Convert me, O Christ, sweet Jesus in my journey.
When I’m filled with fleeting folly and fragility,
When I’m unleashed by terror and travesty,
When I’m perverted by phobia and mastered by mania,
When I’m seduced by ‘sophia’ at the cost of thy logia,
When I’m at war against thy blue-green Gaia,
When I’m all words, few deeds and endless needs,
Convert me, O Christ, sweet Jesus in my journey.
When I forget thy favours and facilitate futile fissure,
When I hoard treasures without any measure,
When I sail in vain glory and hail all that is gory,
When I implode and explode my blessed story,
When I adorn pride’s grave with my waning breath,
When I fake faith in dearth, lack love in depth, and hack hope to death,
Convert me, O Christ, sweet Jesus in my journey.
