In early 1989, Fr. K.M. Joseph – an enthusiastic young Jesuit of Patna Province – intending to practise law having completed his qualifying legal studies, approached the then Provincial for permission. The latter knew that before him there were other talented Jesuits who had studied law with distinction, but failed to enter the portals of the Courts.
