Jesuits in Parishes

My experience of the Jesuits started way back in 1971 when, as a child, I was admitted to the Preparatory of St. Mary’s (ICSE) School, Mazagaon, Mumbai. My memories of school are replete with the varied interactions with priests or brothers in the office, the playground, during recess, and even after school hours. The brothers and priests would join in a game of football, administer first aid when we fell, share our tiffin when we offered it, haul us up most enthusiastically when we erred, teach us religion, etc. The old Spanish priests and brothers were as fun-loving as the children in their schools. Their involvement with children of all faiths was a wonderful, and possibly reaped a harvest of goodwill for the Church and its institutions.
