We are experiencing a pandemic for the first time. In India we are used to the aftereffects of malaria, tuberculosis, maternal and infant mortality, and AIDS. Most of these were/are in different pockets and were affecting mostly people on the margins; ‘they’ were the victims; ‘we’ kept to our safe locations. But Corona does not maintain laxman rekha between ‘us and them’. From British Prime Minister Boris to an attending nurse in AIIMS Hospital, all are real/potential victims. Corona upset all our calculations!
