These are not ‘happy days’ for the Catholic Church. Financial scandals, sex abuse cases and civil war type reactions from within the hierarchy – these and other issues are engulfing the Church. Pope Francis is in the midst of them. Many in the Church are perplexed, and rightly so. Perhaps they do not recognize the substantive changes that are being introduced in the Church. Pope Francis has initiated an uphill task – reformation of clericalism!
