It has taken so many centuries for a woman to play an important role in a Synod of Bishops. For this to happen we needed a Pope like Pope Francis, who appointed in 2021 Nathalie Becquart, a 54-year-old French nun, as the first female Undersecretary in the Vatican’s Synod of Bishops office.
