Jamshedpur Jesuit Province and Jamshedpur Diocese have had a unique relationship for a long time. The uniqueness comes from the First Mission Superior, Fr Carroll Fasy’s “strong belief in the Community.” He wished to keep his brothers-in-Mission healthy and strong, physically and spiritually. So, in 1948, “within months of the first group of Jesuits’ arrival,” he decreed, that every Thursday evening, all the members should come together to meet, relax and talk. It would include confessions, prayer, a meal, meeting each other, and a card game (later screening a film) for those interested, or recreation.
