“Our institutions are our strength”, I heard a Jesuit companion say at one of our meetings. On another occasion, I also heard a beneficiary of one of our city institutions saying: “Father, your institutions are the best in the country”. Do these two statements mean the same? Maybe, yes! Maybe, not! Because, the first statement speaks about the intrinsic strength of our institutions, while the second one makes an appraisal of our institutions from the point of view of their ‘user-value’. Let me explain.
