St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangalore, a premier Jesuit College with a heritage of 143 years, has attained the distinctive achievement of securing A++ Grade with the CGPA of 3.67, on a 4.00 point scale in its fourth cycle of NAAC reaccreditation. It is indeed a moment of pride and joy to all Jesuit institutions, as this is one of the best grades among Colleges in the state of Karnataka and in the entire country.
The NAAC Peer Team visited the College for validating the qualitative data on 16th and 17th January, 2023. The team was impressed with the incremental credentials achieved by the College during the assessment period, on all indicators of HEIs and the impact thereof, and appreciated the work culture and professionalism displayed by all the stakeholders during the visit. The College has upscaled its Grade to A++ with a significant increment in the cumulative grade point average which was a herculean task, considering the data submission format for the fourth cycle of accreditation.
Rev. Dr Praveen Martis SJ, the Principal of the College has expressed that it was the tremendous level of teamwork and deep sense of belongingness of the stakeholders that has brought the College to this level of achievements. NAAC has recognised the continual efforts of the College at raising the benchmarks on all criteria of assessment, and has placed the College one among the best Colleges in India. The noteworthy aspect of achievement is that the College has been recording incremental growth in grades and CGPA continually from A, A with CGPA 3.48, and A with CGPA 3.62, reaching A++ with CGPA 3.67.
We congratulate the Management, staff, students and all stakeholders for keeping the flag of St Aloysius College flying high, and wish that the College attains the well-deserved status of the university very soon.
Praveen Martis, SJ
