A few months ago I pronounced my final vows, concluding a twenty-year period of formation as a Jesuit Brother. This formation would have been difficult to distinguish from that of a priestly scholastic, with a few notable exceptions related to the sacramental ministry. My experience, however, is not universal in this Least Society, either temporally or geographically. Today, there continues to be a degree of confusion regarding the nature of the Jesuit Brother and the consequent process of formation suitable for the Brother.
