My vision for the future is a Society of Jesus that can respond quickly to world events, a Society that is more agile to face challenges such as poverty; secularisation; the cry of the poor; the cry for meaning; the cry for depth; the cry for God; the cry against dictatorship and fundamentalism. Sometimes we are too slow to act; too slow to change; too slow to be angry about injustice; to slow to live and to express passion.
