As we celebrate 100 years of the arrival of Spanish Jesuit missionaries in Gujarat, I recall memories from fifty years ago. I was studying at St. Xavier’s School, Mirzapur, and Fr Pablo Gil was the parish priest. I was an avid postal stamps collector. On Mondays, Fr. Pablo would call a couple of young boys to count the Sunday church collection. As a reward, Fr. Pablo would give us few foreign postal stamps. What a unique Lay collaboration it was!
