Fifty years in the life of a Mission is indeed a momentous milestone and a splendid occasion to celebrate. As the Kohima Jesuits celebrate five decades of their presence and service in Northeast India, they look back with gratitude at all that has happened and look forward with hope at the future. That is why the theme of the Jubilee celebration, “Reading the Past to Write the Future” was so apt. The small but purposeful steps taken by the pioneers Frs. Stany Coelho, Liguory Castelino, and Br. Raymond D’Souza have borne fruit. A seed sown fifty years ago in Jakhama has sprouted, grown and branched out covering all the seven sisters of Northeast India.
