In 1970, God led the Karnataka Province to send three men with very different charisms to begin the Jesuit Mission in Northeast India: an educator, a builder, and a pastor. While Fr. Stany Coelho was busy establishing schools for the Southern Angami Nagas around the city of Kohima, Fr. Ligoury Castelino ventured out to the remote villages in the Eastern parts of Nagaland among the Chakhesang Nagas, establishing small Catholic communities that would eventually become parishes.
