Geographical exploration is a process that investigates the physical, terrestrial properties of a region so that one gets correct and reliable knowledge of the area. Perhaps many may be surprised to know that the Jesuits made substantial contribution to geographical exploration not only in the New World of the Americas from the 16th century onwards, but also in the ancient known countries where the geographical knowledge was limited and defective.
