Communication is basic to animals and humans. The mode and quality of communication has evolved over the centuries. While animals have largely followed the same mode from time immemorial, humans have taken giant strides in this field. In the last few years, technology has enabled us to communicate and remain connected – virtually and electronically. The word ‘media’ was first used for print media. Today it includes audio-visual and electronic means as well. As the human beings invent newer ways of communication, media is shaping our world.
