A formator, when asked for the reason he wanted a change, complained that he was tired of setting a good example! Speaking on the role of a formator in the Society of Jesus, Fr Peter Hans Kolvenbach once said that the formator is God’s instrument and the instrument of the Society for transmitting our way of proceeding and communicating a desire to serve God and human beings, mainly by the witness of his own life.
