A few years ago, just after I had given a quick rundown of the many international honours the Jesuit scientists have achieved for their accomplishments – 35 lunar craters, 11 asteroids, the first credited scientific discovery in India, more than 80 species of plants in India, etc., etc., named after Jesuits – one of the many provincials in the group commented to me: “If this were the case of any other group, how much publicity they would have made of it!” Very true; we Jesuits are poor at such public relations!
